How long is an NFL game?
NFL games are organized into four quarters, each lasting 15 minutes. There is a brief two-minute break between the first and second quarters, as well as between the third and fourth. Additionally, there is a main halftime break between the second and third quarters.
Although time runs continuously, it pauses during situations like a timeout or a play review. It also stops when there are two minutes remaining in the first half and at the end of the second half, if there are still two minutes left. All of these factors contribute to a game lasting approximately three hours.
