Virginia Giuffre, the woman who accused Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, claims she has only four days left to live. But what happened to her? Here we tell you who she is, why she might die soon, and everything about the controversial abuse case she experienced at the hands of these two men.

Who is Virginia Giuffre?

The name Virginia Giuffre gained notoriety in 2021 after she sued Prince Andrew for sexual abuse. Giuffre asserted that, as a teenager, Jeffrey Epstein, along with a woman named Ghislaine Maxwell, trafficked her to powerful and wealthy men, including the second son of Queen Elizabeth.

In her lawsuit, Virginia claimed that between 1999 and 2002, the prince forced her to have sex with him three times in London, New York, and on a private island owned by Epstein, when she was 17 and he was 41. Andrew denied all accusations against him and even claimed not to know Virginia; however, Judge Lewis Kaplan rejected the motion presented by his defense, opening the possibility of reaching a civil trial.

In 2022, a letter submitted to a U.S. district court revealed that Prince Andrew reached an out-of-court settlement in the civil lawsuit for sexual abuse brought against him by Virginia. According to this agreement, the royal family member was to make a cash donation to Giuffre’s charitable organization.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey and Maxwell were arrested and imprisoned; however, he was found dead in prison, while she is currently serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted of child sex trafficking in 2021.

Virginia Giuffre’s Net Worth

Currently, Virginia Giuffre’s net worth is not public, although it may have increased after receiving a sum of money from Prince Andrew. The amount was never disclosed, but the Daily Telegraph estimated that the settlement could be as high as £12 million ($16.3 million). However, other media outlets suggest that the total sum is around £3 million ($3.8 million).

Why Might Virginia Giuffre Die?

Giuffre alarmed social media users after posting a message on her Instagram account, revealing that, following a car accident, she is now in kidney failure and has only four days to live. The message was accompanied by a photograph of herself, showing her covered in bruises.

“This year has been the worst start to a new year, but I won’t bore anyone with the details but I think it important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km as we were slowing for a turn that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can. I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology,” the post reads.

Virginia stated that she is ready to die, but her last wish is to see her children one last time.

Who was Jeffrey Epstein?

Jeffrey Epstein was an American businessman and investor whose career began as a math and physics teacher at the prestigious Dalton School in New York. In 1976, following the recommendation of a student’s father, he joined the investment bank Bear Stearns, where he quickly rose through the ranks to become a partner.

It was at Bear Stearns where Epstein established an extensive network of contacts with the economic elite of the United States, which allowed him, in 1982, to found his own investment firm: J. Epstein and Co. This company was characterized by accepting only clients with assets exceeding one billion dollars and achieved success almost immediately.

Over the years, Epstein began to flaunt his wealth by acquiring a luxurious mansion in Florida, a ranch in New Mexico, and one of the largest residences in Manhattan. His lifestyle granted him access to a social circle that included celebrities, artists, and political figures.

However, his life of excess began to unravel in 2005 when the parents of a 14-year-old girl reported him to Florida police for sexual abuse at his Palm Beach home. The young girl described the events and identified two other girls present that day, who in turn pointed to more victims.

Before the case was escalated to the FBI, several dozen potential victims had already been documented. It was alleged that Epstein paid young girls for massages at his home, which, in most cases, ended in sexual abuse. During a police inspection of his property, numerous photographs of minors were found throughout the house.

In July 2019, the case resurfaced in the media following Epstein’s arrest in New York. Prosecutors sought to confiscate his mansion in the city, where some of his crimes were allegedly committed. After being denied bail, the millionaire was incarcerated at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York.

Epstein faced accusations of trafficking numerous minors, exploitation, and sexual abuse, even enticing them to lure other teenagers with promises of funding their college education or advancing their careers in modeling.

In his last court appearance on July 31, it became clear that he would have to remain in prison for at least a year since his trial wouldn’t take place until the summer of 2020. However, in August, Epstein was found dead in his cell.
