Beyond his public life and the content he used to share on social media, little is known about his family. Here, we tell you who ‘Fofo’ Márquez’s closest relatives are and how they have reacted to his legal situation.

Who are Fofo Márquez’s parents and brother?

‘Fofo’ Márquez’s family consists of his mother, Sandra Alcaraz, and his younger brother, Rodrigo Márquez.

His father, Rodolfo Márquez Flores, passed away in November 2022. Although the influencer rarely spoke about his family on social media, his mother and brother have been present during his legal process, showing their support at various hearings.

Who is Fofo Márquez’s mother?

Sandra Alcaraz is the name of Fofo Márquez’s mother. During her son’s trial, she gave an interview to journalist Adela Micha, expressing her concern and sadness about the situation. “I am not prepared to see my son spend the rest of his days in prison,” she said. Despite not being a media figure, her support has been unconditional.

Who is Fofo Márquez’s brother?

Rodrigo Márquez, 25, is the influencer’s only brother. Unlike Rodolfo, Rodrigo is not a content creator, but he is active on social media such as Instagram and TikTok, where he shares photos of his lifestyle and passion for sports, especially running. He has participated in marathons and half-marathons, as shown in his posts.

Rodrigo Márquez has also spoken about his brother’s case. On social media, he requested respect for his family and stated that Fofo’s sentence seemed disproportionate. Additionally, he mentioned that both inherited their father’s businesses and that they continue to operate successfully.

Who was Fofo Márquez’s father?

Rodolfo Márquez Flores, who passed away on November 8, 2022, due to advanced-stage cancer, was a prominent Mexican businessman in the industrial footwear and fuel sectors. His career began in Mexico City with a footwear company, but he later ventured into the gas station business under the TotalEnergies brand.

In some of his content, ‘Fofo’ appeared at one of the gas stations, leading to confusion about whether he owned TotalEnergies. The brand firmly denied this claim, clarifying that neither he nor his family were owners or shareholders of the company; Rodolfo Márquez Sr. was part of its network of dealers with three service stations.

After his father’s passing, Fofo stated that he would take responsibility for the family businesses and step away from social media. However, shortly after, he returned to his usual content, focused on flaunting a luxurious lifestyle.

The nickname “Millionaire Kid” has followed him since his early days as a content creator, and while this moniker initially placed him at the center of social media, it has also led him into controversial situations, such as his current legal process.

The influencer rejected an abbreviated procedure in November 2024 and opted for an oral trial, prolonging the process. What is attempted femicide?

Attempted femicide in the State of Mexico refers to any action or omission aimed at depriving a woman of her life for gender-related reasons, without achieving the fatal result. Unlike femicide, where the woman’s murder is carried out, in attempted femicide, the act is not completed but leaves physical and psychological scars on the victim. It is crucial to distinguish attempted femicide from attempted homicide, as the latter is not related to the victim’s gender.

Key differences between femicide, attempted femicide, and homicide:

  • Femicide: The murder of a woman for gender-related reasons. Article 325 of the Federal Penal Code states that femicide occurs when a woman’s life is taken under certain circumstances, such as sexual violence, degrading injuries, history of violence, sentimental or trust relationship, threats, isolation, or public display of the body.
  • Attempted femicide: Actions aimed at killing a woman for gender-related reasons but without success. Although the murder is not completed, the victim suffers physical and psychological harm.
  • Homicide: The deprivation of a person’s life, regardless of gender. It does not necessarily involve the gender-based violence circumstances present in femicide.

Who is Fofo Márquez and why did he become famous?

Rodolfo “Fofo” Márquez became famous on social media for flaunting his luxurious lifestyle, displaying his wealth, and engaging in various controversies.

Since his early days on social media, Fofo Márquez focused on showcasing his extravagant life, which intensified after his father’s death. With this money, the young man began sharing videos of himself spending lavishly on parties, nightclubs, and luxury cars.

Fofo Márquez does not have a university degree, and although he claimed to work in his father’s business, social media was his main focus. Unlike other content creators, he did not generate income through brand deals or monetized posts, as his fortune allowed him to maintain his lifestyle without additional revenue.

His arrogant and ostentatious behavior led to various controversies. On one occasion, he sparked outrage by closing the Matute Remus Bridge in Guadalajara, Jalisco, just to record videos and dance on TikTok.

“So you can see once again what money can do here in Mexico,” he said at the time while posing with his luxury cars.

This incident resulted in a hearing with Mexico’s Public Security Secretariat, which sanctioned him with a 35,000-peso donation to a shelter and 12 hours of community service.
