How to watch the Jurassic Park movies in chronological order?
The chronological order of the Jurassic Park movies is not complicated, as it coincides with the release of the films:
- Jurassic Park (1993): Paleontologist Alan Grant, along with paleobotanist Ellie Sattler and chaos theory expert mathematician Ian Malcolm, are sent to the island to assess the safety of the park. However, a tropical storm suddenly breaks out, while a saboteur interferes by cutting the power supply to steal confidential information. This results in the deactivation of the security system, causing the dinosaurs to escape, turning the situation into a dangerous survival mission.
- The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997): Set four years after the events of Jurassic Park, this story takes place on Isla Sorna, another site where John Hammond conducted his dinosaur cloning experiments. Over time, the island was abandoned, and the dinosaurs were forced to survive on their own. Due to an intense corporate struggle within Hammond’s company, InGen, two rival factions clash, creating chaos in this wild environment.
- Jurassic Park 3 (2001): Jurassic Park 3 returns to Isla Sorna, where a man and a child have mysteriously disappeared. Alan Grant, seeking funding to continue his dinosaur research, agrees to take a helicopter tour of the island, hoping to secure financial backing. However, what he doesn’t know is that this excursion is actually a rescue mission driven by the child’s parents. What they hadn’t anticipated is that the dinosaurs would not welcome their visitors.
- Jurassic World (2015): Set 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park, Jurassic World takes the audience back to Isla Nublar, where a modern theme park dedicated to dinosaurs has been opened. However, chaos ensues when a genetically modified giant dinosaur, known as Indominus rex, escapes from its enclosure. The crisis intensifies as other dinosaurs join the battle.
- Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (Series 2020): This is a Netflix animated series. It has five seasons and the story focuses on the events from the Jurassic World trilogy.
- Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018): Fallen Kingdom takes place three years after the events of Jurassic World. An impending volcanic eruption threatens the existence of the dinosaurs on Isla Nublar. Ian Malcolm advocates for letting these creatures, which are the result of unnatural intervention, die in the catastrophe. Meanwhile, Claire Dearing fights to preserve the life of the dinosaurs through her organization.
- Jurassic World: Battle at Big Rock (Short – 2019): This is a 10-minute short film set between Fallen Kingdom and Dominion.
- Jurassic World Dominion (2022): The story takes place four years after the events of Fallen Kingdom. In this new phase, the coexistence of dinosaurs with the natural environment has caused significant ecological repercussions and major ethical dilemmas.
