What is House of the Dragon about?
Set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series tells the story of a turbulent period in the history of the Targaryen House, marked by internal conflicts that pitted siblings against each other and dragons in battle.
The main dispute centers around who deserves to sit on the Iron Throne. The story features figures like Aegon The Conqueror, along with his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys.
At that time, Aegon unified six of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, becoming the first of three centuries of Targaryen rulers. However, the series focuses on the family’s first civil war, known as the “Dance of the Dragons”. This conflict, which took place more than a century after Aegon’s reign, marked the beginning of the extinction of dragons—at least until Daenerys managed to hatch three, 150 years later.
Will there be a fourth season of House of the Dragon?
Yes. The news of the fourth season was confirmed by George R.R. Martin, the creator of the series; however, not all news is good, as he also mentioned that the fourth season would be the last, bringing the series to an end.
