The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the recall of a batch of chocolates, which has been classified as Class I (the highest danger level) due to the risk they pose to consumers’ health. Here’s what chocolate is recalled and what you should do if you purchased one.
Which chocolate is recalled?
According to the FDA, the recall involves chocolates from Cal Yee Farm LLC, as well as other products from the brand, which were sold in transparent plastic bags with closures, available in 8-ounce, 1-pound, 2-pound, and 5-pound sizes. These bags had a bright yellow label on the front and a small white label with a UPC code on the back.
The dark chocolate-covered apricots were in plastic containers, available in two types of packaging: with either a white or yellow label and a small white label with the UPC code on the back.
Fruit baskets 2909 and 2921 were sold in baskets, each with a yellow label on the back. The Boa Vista orchard butter toffee almonds were distributed in 6-ounce transparent plastic bags with closures, carrying a white label.
