The movie “Inside Out 2”, the latest box office hit from Disney Pixar, has overshadowed the first presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump in terms of Google searches in the United States over the past week.
According to Google Trends data, when comparing the search interest for both topics, 71% of the searches were directed towards the movie, compared to only 29% for the presidential debate.
“Inside Out 2,” the highest-grossing movie of 2024
Disney Pixar’s latest production has not only dominated internet searches but has also become the highest-grossing release of the year worldwide.
During its opening weekend, the movie grossed an impressive $295 million. By its second weekend, the figure soared to $725 million globally, continuing to exceed all expectations.
“Inside Out 2” is on track to become one of the highest-grossing films of recent years. The box office test will be the release of “Despicable Me 4” on July 4.
First US presidential debate 2024: Biden vs. Trump
The first presidential debate between Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden is scheduled to take place next Thursday, organized by CNN at their Atlanta studios.

What time is the Trump vs. Biden debate?
This first debate will begin at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, 7:00 p.m. Mexico City time.
The debate will last 90 minutes and will be conducted without an audience, following one of the Biden team’s requirements. The candidates’ microphones will be muted when they are not speaking, and the debate will be moderated by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.
Changes in presidential debates
This year, the presidential debates have undergone significant changes. Not only have they been moved up to June, but the format has also been modified to adapt to new political and social realities.
The 2024 elections will take place without the participation of the Commission on Presidential Debates, marking a break with nearly four decades of tradition.
Additionally, both Biden and Trump are currently only their parties’ frontrunners, as the debate will be held before the formal nomination conventions, after which they will become official candidates.

CNN will broadcast the debate on all its platforms, including its main cable channel, CNN International, CNN en Español, and CNN Max.
It is also expected that other cable news channels will share CNN’s signal. A recent survey showed that 65% of registered voters plan to watch “all or most of the debate.”
