According to Kantar Millward Brown, Coca-Cola, with a value of approximately $98 billion USD, positioned itself as the most valuable beverage brand in the world in 2023.
-
On the other hand, Pepsi ranked as the third most valuable beverage in the world with $18.826 billion USD.

The second place was taken by Nongfu Spring, a Chinese carbonated beverage, with a total value of $21.764 billion USD, surpassing PepsiCo’s flagship brand.
PepsiCo, renowned for its popular cola beverage, has taken the public by surprise with the announcement of its new condiment: Pepsi Colachup. This innovative sauce, combining the distinctive cola flavor with a carefully selected range of ingredients, will be available starting July 4th, coinciding with one of America’s most iconic celebrations: Independence Day.
Reinforcing Pepsi’s Position
With this daring creation, Pepsi aims to reinforce its position as the ideal beverage to accompany classic hot dogs, which are immensely popular during the 4th of July festivities in the United States.
An Unprecedented Culinary Collaboration
Behind Pepsi Colachup stands the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, which has collaborated with PepsiCo to create a revolutionary condiment that combines the caramel notes and citrus undertones of Pepsi-Cola. Jenny Danzi, Senior Director of Pepsi, emphasizes the importance of this partnership and highlights that the sauce is crafted from a reduction of Pepsi, infused with smoked tomatoes, spices such as cinnamon, thyme, oregano, and paprika, onions, and ketchup. The result is a sauce with sweet and citrusy hints, specifically designed to enhance the mildly spicy flavor of hot dogs.
Limited and Strategic Availability
Pepsi Colachup will be available in a limited capacity from July 1st to July 4th in four renowned baseball stadiums: Chase Field in Phoenix, Yankee Stadium in New York, Target Field in Minneapolis, and Comerica Park in Detroit. Those eager to try this special sauce can seek out carts offering samples of the product in these stadiums during the specified days. This launch strategy aligns with the “Better with Pepsi” campaign initiated two years ago, through which Pepsi aims to stand out and compete with Coca-Cola‘s dominance in the cola beverage market.
PepsiCo’s Gastronomic Ventures
Pepsi Colachup is not PepsiCo’s first foray into the world of gastronomy. Last year, in collaboration with the same Culinary Institute of America, the company launched a pepperoni pizza infused with Pepsi, experimenting with unique flavors. Additionally, a few months ago, PepsiCo partnered with the renowned confectionery brand Peeps to create a marshmallow-flavored cola, once again showcasing their willingness to explore new combinations and surprise consumers.
Enhancing the Hot Dog Experience
This unique flavor combination promises to enhance the experience of enjoying a hot dog during the 4th of July celebrations in the United States. Although Pepsi Colachup will have limited availability, its strategic launch in iconic baseball stadiums demonstrates PepsiCo’s commitment to offering unique and differentiated culinary experiences.
