Bad news for MultiVersus fans! Warner Bros. Games and Player First Games announced this Friday that the popular fighting game will soon no longer be available following the arrival of its fifth season. Here, we provide the official shutdown date for this game.
When will MultiVersus no longer be available?
Warner Bros. Games and Player First Games reported that when the fifth season ends on May 30, 2025, at 9 a. m. (Pacific Time), the game will no longer be available for download through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, or Epic Games Store.
“Most importantly, we want to thank all the players and everyone who has ever played or supported MultiVersus. Everyone on the Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games teams has put their heart and soul into this game. We will be forever grateful for the incredible support from the MultiVersus community throughout this journey,” they stated in a press release.
Starting January 31, real-money transactions will no longer be available in MultiVersus. This means you will no longer be able to purchase Gleamium, but you can still use any remaining Gleamium or character tokens to unlock in-game content until the end of Season 5.
When does MultiVersus Season 5 launch?
Season 5, which will serve as the final seasonal content update for the game, will begin on February 4, 2025, at 9 a. m. (Pacific Time) and will run until May 30.

What content will be available in MultiVersus Season 5?
This new update will add two new playable characters to the roster: DC’s Aquaman and Looney Tunes’ Lola Bunny. Both will be available at the start of the season: Aquaman can be unlocked through the battle pass as a level-one reward, while Lola can be obtained as a daily login reward.
In this fifth season, you will also find a 70-level Battle Pass, events, and challenges throughout the game.
How to play MultiVersus offline?
All online features will remain available until the end of Season 5. Once it concludes, there will be an option to play in MultiVersus mode. You can also enjoy the game offline through local mode, facing AI opponents solo or playing with up to three friends. To do so, follow these steps:
- Install or download the latest version of the game.
- Log in during Season 5.
- A local save file linked to your PlayStation Network, Microsoft Store, Steam, or Epic Games Store account will be automatically generated, allowing you to play offline with all the content you have acquired.
