The History of Layne’s Chicken Fingers

In 1994, Mike Layne opened his first location in College Station. The following year, a college student named Mike Garratt decided to have lunch there and, upon entering, took a moment to clean the gardens. This gesture did not go unnoticed by Mike Layne, who quickly brought him onto his Chicken Finger team. The two began working together, and as the restaurant’s following grew, Mike Garratt graduated from Texas A&M and became the sole owner of Layne’s.

Eventually, Astro Chicken joined the team. His importance within the organization was undeniable, and in 2021, he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finger. Today, with the help of some of Mike’s friends, the chain has expanded its famous chicken fingers to several states across the country.

Can I order food from Layne’s Chicken Fingers online?

Yes. You can place your order through the company’s website or via various delivery apps.

How many calories does a chicken finger have?

A single medium-sized fried chicken strip can contain between 100 and 140 calories, depending on the ingredients used for preparation, as well as the sauces with which it is served.

Why are they called chicken fingers?

Typically, chicken fingers are made from chicken breast fillets, which are cut into long, thin strips that resemble fingers, hence the name. The strips are then usually breaded and fried until they reach a golden color and a crispy texture.
