Krispy Kreme announced this Friday that its famous original glazed donuts will be turning green because the Grinch is in “mischief mode”. According to a company press release, the Grinch snuck into Krispy Kreme stores and “played a prank” with the dough and icing, turning the donuts into their signature green color.
As part of the celebration, the chain is offering customers a dozen original glazed donuts for free with the purchase of any regular-priced dozen, including the new limited-edition “Grinch” green donuts, available for just two days. This offer is valid only on Fridays and Saturdays and can be redeemed in-store or through the drive-thru, with a limit of two dozens per customer, while supplies last.
The promotion comes right after the successful annual “Dozen Day” campaign by Krispy Kreme, which took place on Thursday, where customers also received a free dozen original glazed donuts with the purchase of any regular-priced dozen.

Merry Grinchmas Donut Collection
Krispy Kreme’s Merry Grinchmas donut collection, announced last month, is still available for a limited time.
Each donut in this collection is inspired by a character from the iconic 1966 Christmas special, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” Additionally, the collection includes two returning favorites: the Santa Belly donut and the Holiday Sprinkle donut.
The new donuts in the collection include:
- Grinch Donut: An unglazed donut filled with a “coal” Cookies & Kreme filling, coated in Grinch-green icing, and decorated with a mischievous chocolate icing smile and buttercream “hair.”
- Grinchy Claus Donut: An original glazed donut covered in chocolate icing, adorned with white buttercream, festive crispy decorations, and a piece of the Grinch to top it off.
- Cindy-Lou Who’s Merry Berry Tree Donut: An original glazed donut covered with strawberry-flavored icing, a green buttercream tree, sprinkled with festive toppings, and crowned with a small star-shaped piece.
Customers have the chance to purchase, for a limited time, a dozen or a six-pack of Krispy Kreme donuts that includes the Grinch Donut, Cindy-Lou Who’s Merry Berry Tree Donut, Santa Belly Donut, and Holiday Sprinkle Donuts, all delivered fresh daily at select grocery stores.
