The wait is finally over, and Nintendo has revealed the price of its latest console—though many users (especially in Mexico) aren’t too happy about it. The new Nintendo Switch 2 is coming very soon. Here’s when you can pre-order it, how much it will cost, and all the key details.
How much will the Nintendo Switch 2 cost in Mexico?
The announcement of the new Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Kart World has surprised—and even upset—many Mexican users, some of whom are threatening to boycott the brand and refuse to buy the new console due to what they consider an excessive price.
According to the video game developer, the official price of the Nintendo Switch 2 in Mexico will be 13,599 pesos. The console will also launch in a bundle with Mario Kart World, the popular racing game now in an open-world format. The bundle is priced at 14,899 pesos, while the game alone will cost 1,999 pesos.

Why is the Nintendo Switch 2 more expensive in Mexico?
Prices in Mexico for Nintendo’s new console are notably higher than in other countries, where the retail price will be $449 USD and $499 USD with Mario Kart World—roughly 10,000 pesos. This price difference is due to current export costs and applicable taxes.
When will the Switch 2 go on sale?
Pre-orders begin Friday, April 25, and the console’s global release is scheduled for June 5.
What is the Switch 2 console like?
This console features a new design. It is bigger and has two USB Type-C ports, while maintaining the same thickness of 13.99 millimeters as the first generation. One of its most notable features is the screen, which now includes an LCD panel.
The Joy-Con controllers have also been updated. They now magnetically attach to the console using powerful magnets and can be removed by pressing a button on the top. Additionally, the SR and SL buttons have been redesigned to be larger.
Regarding the C button, located on the right Joy-Con, it serves to launch GameChat, allowing users to communicate with other players. The console also includes a built-in microphone on the top, which captures voice from a distance and has noise-canceling capabilities.
Furthermore, a webcam can be connected so players can see each other. The new console appears to feature an automatic framing system that will use the player’s image as an avatar in certain games.
