Farmacias Similares, famous for its iconic character, Dr. Simi, took a significant step in its history by officially inaugurating its first operations center in the United States, named Dr. Simi US. VÃctor González Herrera, CEO of the Mexican company, led the opening ceremony in Austin, Texas.

The new U.S. headquarters is located just 500 meters from the Texas Capitol at 800 Brazos Street, Suite 260, Austin.
The space covers an area of 193 square meters and includes two private offices, a conference room, and an innovative meditation area, providing a productive and comfortable environment for employees.
Farmacias Similares and its expansion to the United States
During the opening ceremony, VÃctor González Herrera enthusiastically shared the reasons behind this ambitious decision.
After three previous attempts, González Herrera considers this the “perfect moment” to enter the U.S. market, particularly emphasizing the desire to serve the Latino community residing in the United States.
“The first attempt was over 20 years ago with my father; years later, we made another attempt, but fate didn’t allow it to flourish. Today is the perfect moment for Dr. Simi to arrive not only as a commercial enterprise but also to extend its mission of support and assistance to this great nation,” expressed the executive.
For his part, Ramón Soler, operational director of Dr. Simi US, explained that the business strategy will initially focus on California and Texas, due to their significant Latino populations. From there, expansion will continue to other key locations such as New York, Illinois, Arizona, and Florida, areas that collectively house approximately 70% of Latinos residing in the United States.
“Our strategic plan is based on reaching cities where 70% of Latinos live,” Soler stated.
Another important aspect of Dr. Simi’s positioning strategy in the United States involves bringing the character to high-impact sports events, particularly basketball, American football, and soccer.
Specifically, the intention is to highlight Dr. Simi’s presence during the Mexican national team’s matches in the 2026 World Cup, an event to be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
What products will Dr. Simi offer in the United States?
In its entry into the U.S. market, Dr. Simi will offer over-the-counter products, vitamin supplements, and various souvenirs featuring its famous character.
These products will mainly be distributed through e-commerce, utilizing popular platforms like Amazon, alongside a strategic partnership with CVS, one of the country’s largest pharmacy chains.
The CEO of Farmacias Similares emphasized that beyond business, the expansion of Dr. Simi has a strong social motivation. The company aims to unify the Latino community around the values of generosity, unity, kindness, and love represented by the beloved character.
“We are characterized by thinking first about how we can be more helpful to society and the environment before making sales,” González Herrera commented.
