Good news for Chili’s Grill & Bar fans! The restaurant chain has announced the opening of a new location in Pennsylvania, which will feature a retro décor and will also be the only location to include the fan favorite, the Awesome Blossom. Here’s everything we know about it.
Where will the new Chili’s restaurant open?
According to the company’s statement, the new location will be in the city of Scranton. The restaurant will be permanent and will also pay tribute to some of Chili’s’ most iconic moments on screen.

What will the new Chili’s restaurant in Scranton be like?
Fans in Scranton will notice that this is not your typical Chili’s. As soon as they enter, they’ll see a giant chalk mural created by Chili’s’ original artist from the early 2000s. Other retro elements include vintage artwork, the iconic tile tables, and a perfectly recreated business lunch booth—ideal for taking the perfect 2005 photo.
“For decades, Chili’s has inserted itself in culture – introducing the now-famous Baby Back Ribs jingle, and most recently unleashing Triple Dipper cheese pulls on TikTok. But we’ve also seen the brand come to life on screen through the years, and that includes being tied to Scranton despite never having a location there. That changes this year with our newest restaurant. A moment this big was way more than a pop-up could pay off, so we created Chili’s Scranton Branch to feel like a familiar home to fans complete with the perfect throwback menu item in the Awesome Blossom, and we can’t wait for them to join us,” said George Felix, Chili’s Chief Marketing Officer.
When will the new restaurant in Scranton open?
This new location will open its doors to customers on Monday, April 7.
What is Awesome Blossom?
The beloved Awesome Blossom is a fried onion shaped like a flower with easy-to-pull petals and Chili’s’ Buffalo Ranch sauce. It was removed from the menu in 2008, but it’s back now and will be exclusively available at the Scranton location.

Chili’s Promotions
The chain is celebrating the opening of its new location, and on April 7, it will offer customers at restaurants across the country the Scranton Marg, a delicious drink available in a glass for only $5.
The Scranton Marg won’t be the only way fans can join the fun. Chili’s Scranton Branch merchandise will also be available starting April 7, including a pair of t-shirts to celebrate the opening. One will be available through a social media giveaway, and both will be available to everyone at welcometochilis.com.
