Wegmans to Open a New Store in the U.S.
Wegmans Food Markets Inc. and Sippel Enterprises LP have announced plans to open a new Wegmans store in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. This marks the chain’s first expansion into the Pittsburgh region, bringing its renowned customer service, high-quality restaurant-style food options, one-stop shopping experience, and competitive prices to the growing Cranberry Springs development.
The new store will be located on a 13-acre site on Cool Springs Drive, next to the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. Spanning approximately 115,000 square feet, it will feature all the traditional departments that Wegmans customers know and love, including a wide selection of fresh produce, seafood, meats, bakery items, deli products, cheeses, and an extensive variety of wines and beers.
For its operations, the company expects to hire between 400 and 500 employees, most of whom will be recruited locally.
While the construction and opening timeline has not yet been determined, the new Wegmans location will be part of the Cranberry Springs development, which includes retail, residential, office, and commercial spaces.
The project will also feature the highly anticipated Charter Luxury Homes and Metropolitan VI Apartments, offering modern living options to accommodate a variety of lifestyles, from luxury single-family homes to high-end apartments with premium amenities. Additionally, Sippel plans to add two Class A office buildings and expand the retail offerings with new restaurants and sought-after shopping destinations.
