Cannes Lions announces 2024 Awarding Jury members

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, renowned for celebrating the pinnacle of advertising and marketing innovation, today unveiled the esteemed panel of jury members for its 2024 awards

This year’s festival, taking place from June 17-21, promises an unprecedented global showcase, with jury representation from 54 markets, the most diverse in its history.

Simon Cook, CEO of LIONS, expressed excitement about the composition of this year’s juries, emphasizing the balance and breadth of expertise that spans the globe. “The diversity within our juries is not just geographical but spans a wide range of disciplines within the creative industry. This diversity is crucial as it brings varied perspectives to the forefront, enriching the evaluation process and setting a global benchmark for creativity,” Cook stated.

The inclusion of Armenia, Ghana, Pakistan, and Panama marks a historic first for the festival, highlighting its ongoing commitment to broadening its international scope and inclusivity. Marian Brannelly, Global Director of Awards at LIONS, highlighted the significance of this development. “The addition of these new markets, coupled with the strongest representation yet from the Middle East and Africa, underscores our dedication to embracing a wide array of creative voices,” Brannelly noted.

This year’s jurors, chosen for their exceptional talent and contribution to the industry, are tasked with the pivotal role of evaluating submissions across various categories. From traditional mediums like Print & Publishing and Film to evolving domains such as Digital Craft and Social & Influencer, the jury will scrutinize the creative merit and effectiveness of each entry.

The festival also places a strong emphasis on special categories that address pressing global issues, such as the Sustainable Development Goals Lions and the Glass: The Lion for Change. These categories underscore the power of creative communication in driving societal change and promoting sustainability.

As the Cannes Lions Festival approaches, the creative industry awaits with bated breath to discover the innovative campaigns and projects that will set new standards for excellence. The diversity and expertise of this year’s jury promise a rigorous and inspiring evaluation process, showcasing the best the world has to offer in creative and effective marketing communications.
