Every year, brands revamp themselves with discount campaigns and eye-catching launches for consumers. One example catching attention is Burger King promotion of one million Whopper for just $1.
It is well known that the main appeal of discount seasons lies in the perception of opportunity. Consumers feel they are saving or better investing their money, which encourages spending even on products that were not necessarily a priority.
According to a recent Deloitte study, 60 percent of consumers prefer to purchase products during discount periods due to the feeling of getting added value.

Burger King Launches Promotion
In a special offer created for members of the Royal Perks loyalty program, starting November 12th, Burger King customers will be able to get a $1 Whopper sandwich by simply clicking on the “offers” tab in the BK app.
The new promotion aims to thank its customers and is part of a campaign that began earlier this year with the launch of the Million Dollar Whopper Contest.
The contest produced three finalists, with over a million Whopper fans presenting their custom sandwich versions for a chance at a grand prize of $1 million.
This is where the idea of thanking Royal Perks members who participated was born, by offering one million original Whopper sandwiches for just $1 while supplies last, according to BK.
Pat O’Toole, Chief Marketing Officer of Burger King North America, explained the motivation behind the offer in a press release. “We can’t think of a better way to recognize and celebrate our biggest Whopper fans than with a special offer that makes everyone feel like a winner,” the statement said.
The brand invites customers to enjoy the classic Whopper for just $1 and then visit restaurants to try three versions of the sandwich starting Thursday, November 14th.
O’Toole expressed great expectations for how well these three new Whoppers will be received. “We are eager to hear how customers feel these three new creations stack up against the classics, and we hope this will finally crown the grand prize winner of $1 million.”
Here Are the 3 Finalists Competing for the Million Dollar Prize
The three finalists for the Million Dollar Whopper Contest are as follows, as described by the brand:
- Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, created by Fabian from California: features a flame-grilled ¼ pound beef patty topped with creamy pickle ranch sauce, lettuce, fried pickles, bacon, and Swiss cheese, all on a toasted sesame seed bun.
- Mexican Street Corn Whopper, by Kelsie from Nebraska: consists of a flame-grilled ¼ pound beef patty topped with creamy street corn spread, lettuce, tomato, crispy tortilla chips, and spicy cheese, all on a toasted sesame seed bun.
- Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, a recipe by Calvin from California: includes a flame-grilled ¼ pound beef patty topped with maple bourbon BBQ sauce, crispy onions and jalapeños, maple-candied bacon, and American cheese, all on a toasted sesame seed bun.
It’s worth noting that voting for one of the three finalist sandwiches of the Million Dollar Whopper Contest can take place from 11/14/24 at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time until 12/5/24 at 10 p.m. To vote, customers can scan the QR code located on the wrapper of each sandwich to choose their favorite and help select the winner.
