During his teenage years, he emigrated with his family to Miami, where he would eventually rise to fame starring in successful Spanish-language telenovelas. Though his maternal grandfather was Jewish, William was raised in a household without a specific religious affiliation.
Levy moved to the U.S. with his mother, his brother Jonathan, and his sister Barbara, settling in Miami, Florida. He attended Barbara Goleman Senior High School in the Miami Lakes area.
