What are the new Krispy Kreme Easter donuts like?
It’s the Hoppy Easter Collection, which includes four new donuts:
- Bunny Basket Doughnut – an Original Glazed donut dipped in chocolate icing, decorated with chocolate-flavored buttercream, and topped with a confectionery bunny.
- Marshmallow Bunny Doughnut – an unglazed shell donut filled with marshmallow-flavored Kreme, dipped in pastel yellow icing, and topped with a bunny face and confectionery ears.
- Bouncing Bunny Doughnut – an Original Glazed donut dipped in pastel blue icing and sprinkles, and topped with a bouncing bunny.
- Strawberry Iced Doughnut with Sprinkles – an Original Glazed donut dipped in strawberry-flavored icing and pastel sprinkles.

“We’re passing on the eggs this Easter and instead hopping into the holiday with all-new bunny-themed doughnuts that are almost too cute to eat. Almost! And … you don’t have to hunt for these doughnuts; just hop to a Krispy Kreme shop near you,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme Chief Growth Officer.
When will Krispy Kreme’s Hoppy Easter Collection be available?
It’s available now! Starting today, you can head to participating stores for the Hoppy Easter Collection. You can order them in-store, for pickup, or delivery through the Krispy Kreme app and website, either individually or by the dozen. You can also enjoy the Hoppy Easter donuts in a 6-pack box, available at select locations.
How much does a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts cost in the United States?
Typically, a dozen donuts costs $11, but in some cities, it can go up to $18.
The History of Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme’s history began in the 1930s. According to legend, Vernon Rudolph, the founder of this famous doughnut brand, won the secret recipe for making yeast doughnuts in a poker game against a French chef in New Orleans.
He then rented a space in Old Salem, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he started selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts wholesale to supermarkets. However, the irresistible aroma of freshly baked doughnuts began to fill the streets, attracting passersby who eagerly asked if they could buy hot and fresh doughnuts.
Vernon seized the opportunity and decided to open a small hole in the wall of his building to sell directly to customers. Although Vernon passed away in 1976, his beloved Krispy Kreme brand lives on today.
In 2001, Krispy Kreme opened its first international store in Canada, near Toronto, a huge success that fueled its global expansion. By 2012, the brand had 500 stores outside the United States, and today it has over 1,400 locations in more than 33 countries.
