Those who have already seen the Netflix series Caught are wondering what really happened and who is to blame

¿De qué trata Atrapados, la serie que está causando furor en Netflix?

The Netflix series ‘Caught’ just arrived on Wednesday to the streaming platform and has already caused a stir. Those who have already watched it are wondering what really happened and who is the culprit. Here, we explain all the details of the final of this Argentine production.

The series revolves around a journalist named Ema Garay, who is recognized for her ability to unmask criminals who have managed to escape justice. Now, she investigates a sexual predator who is preying on teenagers through an online game.

The main suspect turns out to be a member of the community, Leo Mercer. While Ema’s team begins searching for Leo, they stumble upon a new case: the mysterious disappearance of a 16-year-old violinist who had been in contact with him. But is Leo really the culprit? Each clue seems to complicate the mystery even more, leading to a shocking ending.

Final explained of the series Caught

From the first episode, Leo Mercer, the leader of the Fronteras Foundation, is shown as the main suspect in a series of crimes against minors in the city. The journalist Ema, while carrying out an undercover operation, manages to record a video where she confronts Leo in an abandoned house.

However, it is soon revealed that everything was an elaborate setup to frame him. The real culprit is Marcos Brown, an old friend of Leo’s who orchestrated this trap to destabilize the foundation and recover the land his family had lost.

Marcos’ plan, however, has a fatal outcome: Facundo Costa, the father of another abuse victim, finds Leo and shoots him in the neck, causing him to fall into the river. Everyone assumes he is dead, but his body is never recovered.

Later, Ema uncovers the truth and exposes Marcos, who, upon being discovered, chooses to take his own life; however, the story does not end here, as the disappearance of Martina remains a mystery until the final episode.

The mystery begins to unravel when Ema finds a photograph of the young woman, in which she appears with a red dot on her forehead, taken during an underground party. Upon carefully examining the image, she realizes that the wall in the background belongs to Juliana’s house, Leo’s ex-girlfriend.

At last, everything comes to light: after the party, Martina left with Armando, Juliana’s son. While staying at the house, the young woman saw the video where Ema framed Leo and called Marcos demanding answers.

Disturbed by the situation, Armando became upset and accidentally pushed Martina down the stairs, causing her instant death. Juliana decides to cover for her son and abandons Martina’s body in the forest, but, overwhelmed by guilt, she confesses the crime and turns herself in along with her son.

Now, the dilemma is whether Leo is truly dead, as Emma suspects that perhaps he was never dragged into the river. In the final moments, the biggest surprise is revealed: Leo is alive. Just before the series ends, Leo is shown riding a horse in a desert landscape. The man has chosen to distance himself from his old life.
