Why did the CPSC recall Benadryl bottles?
According to the Commission, the recall of this medication is due to a batch containing diphenhydramine, an ingredient that must be in a child-resistant container, as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act.
“The product packaging is not child-resistant, posing a poisoning risk if young children ingest the contents,” the CPSC stated in a press release.
Which Benadryl bottles are being recalled?
This involves the 100 ml Benadryl Liquid Elixir. The batch was manufactured in Canada, and the packaging has a white label at the bottom with the code X003VRIGUL.

Where was the recalled Benadryl sold?
A total of 2,300 bottles of 100 ml Benadryl Liquid Elixir were recalled. These were sold from July 2023 to October 2024 through amazon.com, at a price between $16 and $19.
Is it safe to buy Benadryl?
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, there have been no reports of children getting sick from ingesting the recalled product. The recall only affects the bottle, not the medication itself.
