This Monday, the death of Simon Fisher-Becker was reported, a British actor who appeared in popular fantasy franchises such as Harry Potter and Doctor Who. The news was confirmed by his representative.

“Today, I not only lost a client, Simon Fisher-Becker, but also a close personal friend of 15 years. I will never forget the phone call I made to him when he was offered the role of ‘Dorium’ in Doctor Who. He had been a fan of the show since he was a child. Simon was also a writer, storyteller, and a great public speaker. He helped me enormously and was always kind, courteous, and interested in everyone. My condolences to his husband Tony, his brother, nephews, nieces, and his legion of fans,” wrote Kim Barry from Jaffrey Management.

How did Simon Fisher-Becker die?

As of now, the cause of the actor’s death has not been revealed. Tony, Fisher-Becker’s husband, only reported that Simon was found dead on Sunday, March 9, at 2:50 p.m. and did not provide any further details.

Just last Friday, March 7, the British actor had been active on his Facebook account, where he shared his opinion on the reform of the House of Lords, a political issue in the UK.

“Early morning thoughts. Reform of the House of Lords is very necessary,” he wrote.

Simon Fisher-Becker was born in London, England, on November 25, 1961. His film debut was in 1990 with the movie Arrivederci Millwall. He was famous for playing ‘Tony Fazackerley’ in the series Puppy Love. Additionally, he had roles in three episodes of Doctor Who and participated in audio dramas related to the series for BBC and Disney+.

He was also known for his appearance in the successful film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, where he played the ghost of Hufflepuff, ‘Fat Friar’. Among his film work, he appeared in titles like The Great Director, Pundemic, Les Misérables, Sweet Thing, and An Ungentlemanly Act.

In the theater, he was part of productions like The Emperor of the Moon, An Inspector Calls, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Macbeth, among other notable works. His last screen appearance was in the 2016 film Coveted Desires. After this project, he chose to stay out of the public eye.

Regarding his personal life, it was known that he had been married to Tony Dugdale for several years.
