Great news comes from the PlayStation State of Play! The company announced this Wednesday the release date for Borderlands 4, one of the most anticipated video games by the gaming community, which won’t have to wait long to play it.
When is Borderlands 4 coming out?
According to the game developer, the release of Borderlands 4 is scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
What will Borderlands 4 be like?
Borderlands 4 is the most ambitious installment of the franchise. Through a trailer, PlayStation gave fans a glimpse of what’s to come in this game, where you’ll be able to traverse the Borderlands like never before and fight alone or with up to three players.
In this fourth edition, a catastrophe that alters the world threatens its order and unleashes chaos. Now, you’ll need to show more resistance and fight your way through mechanical monstrosities, bloodthirsty bandits, and fierce beasts with new movement mechanics, such as double jump, gliding, dodging, fixed-point grip, and more.

Gearbox, the game’s developer, mentioned that it will be during the spring, in the next State of Play broadcast, when all the details about Borderlands 4 will be revealed, so stay tuned!
“Join us at the State of Play for Borderlands 4 to see combat, loot seekers, action skills, exploration, and discovery, everything. You’ll see more weapons than you can count. All on PlayStation 5,” they said.
