What’s new in the iOS 18.3 update from Apple?
The main novelty in the iOS 18.3 update is the Apple Intelligence feature, which will be enabled by default on iPhone 15 Pro and newer models, iPads, and Macs with the Apple Silicon M1 chip or later.
Although Apple Intelligence is already part of the promotion for the new iPhones, its rollout has been restricted. Apple explains that this limitation is due to the need to test new features and ensure that the servers have sufficient capacity. Currently, the entire Apple Intelligence suite is still in beta.
The new iOS 18.3 update for iPhone includes several features, such as the ability to use Visual Intelligence to add an event to the Calendar from a poster or flyer, as well as a tool to identify plants and animals more easily.
For Macs, the macOS 15.3 update, which is also being rolled out, adds support for Genmoji and similar modifications to notification summaries.
Additionally, iOS 18.3 will display notification summaries in italics, making them easier to distinguish from regular notifications. New options will also be available to manage notification summaries directly from the lock screen.
Other new features of iOS 18.3 include:
Camera: By enabling dark mode icons on iPhone 16, the icon to access the Camera Control settings also appears in this tone. The name of the option in Camera Control to lock focus has also been updated.
Robot Vacuum Compatibility: With this update, the Home app is now compatible with robot vacuums, so you can control them directly from your iPhone or iPad.
