Several video games were announced this Thursday at Microsoft’s Xbox Developer Direct 2025. These include four new video games and one remaster, all promising hours of fun. If you’re part of the gaming world, here are all the details.

At the Xbox Developer Direct 2025, a remastered version of the beloved Xbox classic, NINJA GAIDEN 2 Black, was also announced.
DOOM: The Dark Ages Release Date
According to Xbox, this game will be released on May 15, 2025. DOOM: The Dark Ages is a prequel to the acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal</strong), set in a world that combines dark fantasy and science fiction, with the signature infernal touch that defines the series.
During the presentation, three key pillars of the game were highlighted:
- Combat, showcasing new and devastating mass destruction weapons available to the Slayer.
- Exploration, revealing an impressive medieval environment inspired by dark, terrifying realms never before explored.
- Story, introducing characters and challenges the Slayer will face while trying to change the course of an epic war.

South of Midnight Release Date
Hazel, the protagonist of the game, ventures into a mysterious and enchanting magical world where she discovers her abilities as a weaver. Her journey is steeped in dark Southern Gothic folklore and encounters with gigantic mythical creatures that shape her development and help her understand the extent of her new powers.
This exciting action-adventure game will be released on April 8. You can also pre-order it and enjoy up to five days of early access with the South of Midnight Premium Edition.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Release Date
This turn-based role-playing game will be released on April 24. Set in a fantastical version of late 19th-century France, it features a world battling an existential threat year after year.
NINJA GAIDEN 4 Release Date
After more than a decade, the NINJA GAIDEN series will present a new and exciting chapter coming to Xbox in the fall of 2025. The game follows Yakumo, an original protagonist whose mission takes him to the heart of a devastated Tokyo. During his adventure, Yakumo will not only face demons but also cross paths with the legendary ninja master, Ryu Hayabusa.
Game footage revealed that Yakumo will offer players a renewed ninja action experience, with his Bloodbind Ninjutsu and classic techniques like Flying Swallow and Izuna Drop. Additionally, Ryu returns as a playable character, with an updated arsenal that retains his characteristic style of brutality and precision.
NINJA GAIDEN 2 Black Release Date
The acclaimed and iconic 2008 game returns with remastered graphics! NINJA GAIDEN 2 Black brings back the high-speed ninja action starring the iconic Ryu Hayabusa and his deadly Dragon Sword. This new version is available starting today!
What other games are coming to Xbox?
The video game company highlighted that these are not the only games coming this year, as there is another one nearing release: Avowed, a fantasy role-playing game from Obsidian Entertainment, which will be available on February 18 for Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app for Windows PC, Battle.net, Steam, and the cloud; it will also be available on Day One with Game Pass.
