On Thursday, workers at several Amazon facilities across the United States began a strike, led by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
This has created uncertainty among the company’s customers, as the holiday season approaches and millions of people have placed orders, raising concerns about whether these will arrive on time.
The goal of the strike is to pressure the e-commerce giant into reaching a labor agreement.
According to the Teamsters, workers are protesting because Amazon failed to meet the December 15 deadline set by the union for contract negotiations.
Which Amazon facilities are on strike?
One of the affected locations is in Queens County, New York City.
Additionally, the strike has spread to an Amazon warehouse in San Francisco, Atlanta, the suburb of Skokie in Chicago, and six delivery stations in Southern California.

Will the strike impact amazon order deliveries?
Sean M. O’Brien, General President of the Teamsters, a union representing nearly 10,000 workers at 10 Amazon facilities, stated that any delivery delays would be entirely the company’s responsibility for not addressing the union’s demands.
“If your package is delayed during the holidays, you can blame Amazon’s insatiable greed. We gave them a clear deadline to come to the table and do right by our members. They ignored it,” he said.
Amazon, however, responded by clarifying that delivery drivers are not direct employees of the company but work for third-party businesses known as Delivery Service Partners, which handle millions of deliveries daily.
According to Amazon, this situation should not impact ongoing orders.
“The Teamsters have actively threatened, intimidated, and tried to coerce Amazon employees and external drivers to join them, which is illegal and the subject of multiple pending unfair labor practice charges against the union,” said Kelly Nantel, an Amazon spokesperson, in a statement.
What should i do if my Amazon order doesn’t arrive?
If you haven’t received your package within 30 days of the estimated delivery date, contact the company so they can resolve your issue.
How to locate a missing Amazon package marked as delivered
Sometimes, the delivery status updates prematurely, which may cause your package to appear as delivered even if you haven’t received it yet. This could mean the package is still on its way to the specified address and will arrive soon. For more information about its location, you can check with the carrier.
If the tracking indicates your package was delivered but you can’t find it, follow these steps:
- Verify that the shipping address is correct.
- Look for messages indicating that delivery was attempted but unsuccessful.
- Check the area around the usual delivery spot.
- See if someone else accepted the package, as long as it doesn’t compromise your health or safety.
- Keep in mind that some packages go through multiple carriers; check your mailbox or other locations where you receive mail.
- Wait up to 48 hours, as some packages may be marked as delivered up to two days before they actually arrive.
How to Track Your Amazon Package
You can find tracking information in your order details. If your order includes multiple items, each one may have its own delivery date and tracking details.
To check the status of your package, follow these steps:
- Go to the “My Orders” section.
- Find the order you want to track.
- Click on “Track Package.”
