During this Thursday afternoon, thousands of users reported that Apple’s text messaging service, iMessage, is experiencing an interruption.

iMessage down
Given the problems in this messaging service, one of the most used in the United States, Google searches for “Why is iMessage not working today”, “imessages not sending”, “waiting for imessage activation” have increased.
Several users have even turned to their internet service providers, such as AT&T or Verizon, to make sure what the source of the problem is.
Others have restarted their iPhone in hopes of fixing the problem.
However, the failures continue.
According to Downdetector, the failure in iMessage is global, as reports have been registered in several countries around the world.
